Sequences of Decay

 A timelapse is a sequence of photos which have been taken over a space of time with equal intervals between each shot, it is important that the image remains perfectly framed din the same place for each photo to sow no camera shake in the final out come it is also important that the settings and focus remain the same throughout the whole period, to achieve this it is suggested the camera is set up in fully manual meaning u adjust your aperture shutter speed and focus by yourself sometimes even ISO



There is a popular photographer called Sam Taylor Johnson, she is well known for her "Still life" piece which involves time lapsing the decay of fruit in a bowl over a long period of time.


Johnson began exhibiting her fine art photography pieces in the early 1990s, she was born in Croydon UK on the 4th of March 1967, when she was nine her father left leaving her family broken, art could have possibly been a stress release. Sam started her life in croydon however after her after her parents divorce the remainder of her family moved to Jarvis Brook in East Sussex.

Adobe After Effects is a computer programme which allows you to edit images but is also create videos from the images we have taken or downloaded, we started out by de constructing an image we took from google, we used the polygonal lasso tool in photoshop CS6 to select the main sections of the image and separate them into layers, we then refined the edges to make them more accurate to the area that we were trying to select, each layer we selected we gave a name in this case it was"sky", "shard", and "plane" this helps us not to get confused while editing, we also increased the contrast saturation and brightness to make the image more visually appealing. Lumen pinhole

Pinhole photography is a method of camera-less photography where light sensitive paper is placed in a light sealed container with a roughly 0.332 mm hole pierced in it however the hole is covered with tape until exposure of the paper is desired. Materials: 35mm card disc (use compass to get correct size on all card circles when cutting them out) 60mm card disc 70mm card disc 70mm felt disc (use the 70mm card disc as a template to cut the felt) (this felt must be black or inpenitrable by light) Scissors to cut circles of card and felt compass and ruler to cut and measure the 3 circles before cutting them out of the card. Acupuncture needle duct tape (black/solid colour that is not opaque or transparent) stapler 500ml can (clean and dry) Can opener sand paper hot glue gun We created our own pinhole cameras by using our can opener to remove the top of the can leaving a cup shape we then pt duct tape around the tip to preventing sharp edges from cutting us. Decay sequence resubmission

A 'Decay sequence' involves taking photos of a "decaying" object, these photos are all taken from exactly the same place (using a tripod iff possible). All photos are all taken with an equal interval between them in my case this was a two minute interval between each shot I also made sure that the camera settings were identical for each shot i did this by keeping my camera in fully manual settings and focus meaning the camera couldn't try to compensate of lighting by changing the shutter speed or aperture. These images upto thousands sometimes are now stitched together and rendered, i did this in photo shop by converting my raw images to jpeg images so they were smaller images, I then imported the correctly ordered images and put them into video format and saved it.
