3D experiments resub

Before going straight into my final analogue 3D I decided to do a practice piece, this involved taking an A3 sheet of adhesive foam board which used as a backing piece for my image, my image of choice was a low key portrait which I took in the studio and edited on photoshop, I then printed this image onto A4 premium luster paper using the Epson printer.

This image I then drew on with a sharpie to emphasise all the key lines and features of the face this created an added feature to the physical image, I then cut the image into sections to create a puzzle type of style, next u stuck all of the puzzle pieces in order to the centre of the foam board sheet by peeling off the backing.

to give this image yet another element of interest I took some coloured thread and laid it across all of the gaps in the puzzle pieces almost visually separating the image into sections, the thread was also attached with the adhesion of the foam board.

finally I collected all sorts of brightly coloured rubbish from crisp packets to paper clips and stuck them all around the boarder of the image once again using the adhesion from the foam board.

the foam board in this practice acts as a almost stand like feature which adds a very interesting effect to the image.

I think this practice experiment went well because it was a development that allowed me to fully understand what I wanted to achieve in my final outcome, such as the fact that afterwards I realised I wanted to focus fully on making the image be able to be moved and have a 3D stand, I also think this went well due to the fact that it used recycled products and can be viewed from any angle to give a different perspective which is also something I would like to achieve in my final analogue 3D project, this project practice also went well because it helped me realise that I wanted to create a similar style for my digital 3D (an image that stands out and can have an element altered by moving (I want to make my digital 3D visible in 3D with glasses)).

I think this experimental 3D project could have gone better iff I had planned out slightly more what I would have liked to have done, I also this could have gone better iff I had focused on using dark black and grey coloured rubbish to line the image to contrast the picture itself and make the brightly coloured thread stand out.

This is the final outcome of my 3D analogue practice.

I have stuck pieces of colourful and uniquely shaped rubbish to the outside of the image to create a unique twist with an interpretable meaning or message.

this work links really well to my final project due to the fact that it allows me to improve on my initial design and show what i want to in my final.

When anylising this practice I was able to fine tune my ideas to create the overall final outcome which I wanted, for example this practice allowed me to realise I wanted to show a physical moving feature in my final and also that I didn't want to use the thread in my final.

overall this practice created the perfect fine tuned idea in my head and allowed me to realise my mistakes so I don't make them next time for example one mistake I made in this practice was excessive colour drawing the viewers eye away from the initial image.
